Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Some high-scoring matches in MLS happening lately.
In a few minutes the Timbers begin a new season,....without their Star player Blanco. They go down to LAFC, losers of two straight 3-0 matches, yet it's pretty obvious that POR is the heavy underdog here without Blanco. Obviously, they aren't one guy, but in MLS, one guy makes all the difference, especially with what Sebastian brings to the Timbers. Don't know how POR can figure out how to score more than one goal, which means they have to hold LAFC to just one goal in their stadium. Daunting task.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
All POR could manage against San Jose tonight was six shots, while they gave up something like 16 themselves. Man.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Gonzalo Higuain to Inter Miami.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
WOW! What a time for the Timbers to get their first shutout in six months, 15 games ago. 1-0 over the Sounders. Had to hold the lead for 77 + 7 minutes.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
They released the rest of the MLS schedule yesterday. There is going to be a lot of soccer between now and early November. Pretty much everyone is playing every 3-4 days from now until then.

That will take some strategy. Coaches will earn their paychecks.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Remember those teams in High School on your schedule you looked forward to because there was a great chance you could get a hat-trick and your team could get double-digit goals? Would you feel embarrassed for the other team? No. You were too busy laughing with each other on your own team every time you scored.
Well, that team is the San Jose Quakes.

I think you misspelled Vancouver Whitecaps.

That was rough Wednesday, but they are better than that.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Another 1-nil win.
Helps to play San Jose and Vancouver back-to-back.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
The Columbus Crew just haven't been the same team since Nagbe went down.

No argument here.

Never thought the Timbers could adjust in time after losing Blanco, but to my shock, they not only have, but they have found success with a much different look.
The Crew will, too, without Nagle.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Thank you LAFC, for the victory over the Sounders.
Timbers amazingly are playing better than when they won the Orlando bubble. 3-0 win last night in a rainstorm over a much improved and rising San Jose squad.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Cincy trying to pull off the shocker, leading 2-1 over the Crew at the 51-minute mark.
