Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Reds get another look at Wade Miley. Miley has an ERA of 2.23 in 13 starts. This is his third start against the Rhinelanders in 2018. He won a 3-1 decision in early May, and got no decision while working into the 8th inning of a 2-1 Brewers' win in August.
Third times the charm, boys.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
After three outstanding starts in August (2 ER in 21.1 innings), DeSclafani has fallen on hard times, working to a 6.84 ERA over his last 5 starts. Maybe DeSclafani is running on fumes as the season winds down, after missing the 2017 campaign in its entirety.
I-Didn't-Know-That: Scooter Gennett has homered off of DeSclafani. Scoreboard!

The Reds also get another look at Front Row Amy.

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
And we already have our first complaint about pace of play.
Whoever had "sixth batter of the game" wins the pool.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
And we now have our first football reference. First batter in the bottom of the 2nd inning.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
We see the much weaker arm that Schebler now has on the SF.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Boy schebler has an awful arm

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
4 IP, 1 R. Nice outing for DeSclafani to this point.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Wade Arroyo showing that you don't HAVE to pitch mid-90s to get folks out.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Miley is lifted for a pinch hitter after 5 scoreless frames. Good decision. Domingo Santana, hitting for Miley, goes deep.

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Sorry Scooter....Reds pitching giving batting title to Yelich and major MVP looks

I suppose that I jinxed him pretty good. Homer, single, homer, line out, single.

Reds should make you a pitching advisor, quite correct. No idea why Reds are still trotting Disco out there.
Maybe they should just consider an early shut down period.

Kinda sums up this season.

He never had a "cannon", typical of many RF's, but he had an average arm...UNTIL the shoulder injury. Now his arm is worse than Winker's.

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Scooter gets Hader and Reds throwing Yelich creampuffs
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Schebler got that throw from RCF to 2nd on only 4 hops

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Oh Jeff Brantley kinda just let loose there. Surprised he said that much
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
What did he say? I turned off the game.
-
Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
Brantley just called them out..."Is there one pitcher, ONE, on this Reds staff who has gotten better since the beginning of last year? And the answer is N-O, no. And if you can't teach it at the minor-league level, and you can't teach it at the big-league level, then you're just spinning your wheels."

Re: 09/17/18 Reds @ Brewers
When was the last time a player hit for the cycle against the same team twice in a season? Yelich just did it against the Reds this season.

Yelich has certainly been good for my fantasy team.

Yeah but once Yelich goes 7 for next 8 in final 2 games vs Reds with 4 extra base hits....he’ll have slightly passed Baez for the moment

Cody Reed.

Question is who’s “gotten better.” Reed is better now than in any other MLB trial he’s had.

His whole major league career spanning less than 100 innings.

I was in attendance for the start in Pittsburgh. He got lit up like a Christmas tree, and looked like the Cody Reed we've all gotten to know and love. He didn't do much better in his next start vs. the Dodgers. You'll forgive me if I don't buy that he's turned the corner just because of one good start.

I just said Cody got better. It’s clear from the numbers as compared with previous seasons. I didn’t say he was ready for enshrinement.

Marty has been saying this for 4 years, it's why half the board hates him.

I know you've only been a short time so I can tell with absolute certainty that Marty hate has nothing to do with what he's said about the Reds pitching.

No, with Marty it gets lost among all the other whining and complaining he does. With Cowboy, it carries a little more weight. Mainly because he's more of a cheerleader, but also because he carries the gravitas of being an ex-MLB pitcher with a 14-year career, former All-Star, and Rolaids Relief Man winner.
