Looks like a pretty small strikezone tonight. I thought Oswalt got squeezed a bit in the top of the inning and now it appears Cueto is getting squeezed. That looked like strike three on Matsui.
Bourn and Tejada pop out.
Six straight fastballs to Berkman. Walked him on 3-2. Where's the slider?
Blum grounds out. 1-0 Reds after one inning.
Bruce begins the second inning with a line drive single to left.
Bruce steals 2nd as Keppinger K's.
Richar K's looking. Bako walks.
I can't believe Oswalt pitched around Bako to get to Cueto. Johnny probably is a better hitter. Well, maybe not.
Cueto K's. 1-0 Reds after 1 1/2.
One thing you can say about our two young pitchers. They'll swing wildly at anything. Absolutely no thought of getting a hit--just getting out of the batter's box is their goal :).
Pence singles on a groundball to CF. Cueto's stuff still isn't as sharp as it was before his injury. Still, I'd say fatigue has more to do with that. It's still encouraging that's he pitched fairly well in his last few starts despite not having his great stuff.
Wigginton flies out.
Ausmus grounds into a force out.
A passed ball by Bako allowed Ausmus to advance to 2nd.
Oswalt singles. It seems like Cueto is throwing a ton of fastballs tonight.
