Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies Game Thread
Lieber always seems tough against us. Hope we can squeak one out here
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies Game Thread
Wow..3 or 4 games with the same lineup? this is rare.
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies Game Thread
Why does Royce have to be in the lineup? Castro is a better fielder and probably a better hitter. Rich is a better hitter for sure.
Edwin is in there so I am not going to complain too much though.
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies Game Thread
I hope Rich can handle this :)

Because if Clayton isn't starting then he's a pretty bad backup, he can only play 1 spot, Castro can play 3.
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies Game Thread
Looks like Hatteberg has found a home at #2.
Biggest assets: working the pitcher, OBP, has the 3-4 hole open with Freel on first base, can make contact on the hit-and-run.
Biggest liabilities: borderline base clogging footspeed, candidate to ground into DP -- unless Freel is running on the pitch.
As much as Freel runs, Hat's not going to produce any more DP grounders than some of the other Reds' hitters.
One question remains -- who bats 2nd (assuming RA plays 1B) against southpaws? Dunn?
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies - Game Thread
i had the pleasure of seeing royce play in person the other day...it almost made me sick watching his "slick" fielding skills:barf:
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies - Game Thread
Oh no, why, why, why? Has Rich Aurilia been traded?
Re: 8/11/06 - Reds vs. Phillies - Game Thread
I know Aurilia can't play SS any more, but I think Rich's bat outweighs Clayton's better range (hey, there's someone Royce is better than with the glove). The double nutpunch of Clayton and Castro starting day in and day out is killing me here.

Lieber has a dead arm. We better pound him tonight.

He was traded to one of the local softball teams for a half empty keg of beer.
;)
