BTW, are we all just going to pretend that a guy named Dillon Dingler isn't still available? AND he's a toolsy catcher? AND his name is Dillon Dingler?

Are the Astros looking to take 2 trash cans and a kazoo? I’m here all week.
Wonder if they might be more inclined to go after hitters if the Driveline folks think they can find diamonds in the rough with pitchers.
I agree with both of you, believe it or not. I think it needs to be a tiebreaker in if you have a hitter or pitcher graded roughly the same, go with the hitter since you have a much better developmental infrastructure in place for pitchers than hitters. Plus, you are more likely to attract FA pitchers than you are FA hitters.
Seems like a few of the arms left that are ranked highly have had TJ surgery. Reminds of a few years ago when Jesus Lazardo was selected in the third round after having the surgery. He's now the top A's prospect and will establish this year or next in the majors.
I'd love to see the Dingler with our 2nd pick. I think he's a first round talent.
I've told everyone here a million times I'm a Gator fan, and as such, I've seen Mace pitch many, many times. He's got the best pitching svengali in the country coaching him in Kevin O'Sullivan, and he's got a good arm, but his command is spotty and his stuff is just nothing spectacular. And being a college arm with 2+ years of experience, he's almost a finished product. I'd like a guy like him in the 3rd or 4th round, but even then I wouldn't do backflips. His teammate and fellow SP Jack Leftwich is almost the same guy with the same profile. Except that Jack Leftwich looks like John Mayer.
There goes Dingler to the Tigers at pick #38
Detroit doubles down on Dillon Dingler.
