Dammit, I thought he looked really bad at the cars induction to the Rock and Roll HOF.
RIP Rick.
Buckle up folks.

A love for real not fade away...
That first Cars album is near perfect.
Bummer.
I loved The Cars back when I was in high school. I really liked their sound. It was unique and seemed fresh at the time. That first album like Nebraska said was darn near perfect. I remember playing that one to death on my 8-track player in the car. I'm pretty sure I bought a cassette later on of the same album. Thank you and RIP Rick Ocasek for giving us a fresh new sound in our young years.
You knew them when you heard them for sure.
Terrific band, one of the all time favorites.
So, I was walking around Boston this weekend and Cars tunes were spilling out of everywhere. Yet where it really caught me was when I was walking by Nuggets Records in Kenmore Square, a block down from where The Rat used to be (the dive club where the Cars essentially invented American new wave). "Since You're Gone" was playing and, man, that guy was so damn good. It was super weird thinking I was on a stretch of sidewalk he'd worn out back in the day and that he'd never set foot on again.
Ocasek also produced Bad Brains' Rock for Light album, which puts him high in the pantheon for me.
