Welsh would have been all over it.
They should bring him in like Gene Saratore on the CBS NFL and NCAA Basketball broadcasts

Really amusing imagining a shadowy cabal of stats nerds meeting in secret to determine the fate of society. “Elites” lmao

Instead of choosing any of the above viable non-political statements, he chose to make it political. I don't watch baseball to hear politics.
My friends and I were listening/watching OD and Barry said this verbatum:
"Well Black Lives Matter. It is what it is." I have no idea what he said after that because it was just so random.

Re: John Sadak, Barry Larkin, AND Chris Welsh
The new guy is fun and exciting. I've gone from not liking him to liking him kinda in a handful of days. But I freaking love Chris Welsh and want more of him in the broadcast. I'm not even sure what he does right now.

Canned, along with Doug Flynn and Danny Graves

Re: John Sadak, Barry Larkin, AND Chris Welsh
Danny Graves is doing national coverage for Bally Sports. Flynn and Pic were cut completely.

His spray tan machine is probably still in use

Re: John Sadak, Barry Larkin, AND Chris Welsh
We're going to need a thread dedicated solely to Sadak's pop culture references. Less than a week into the season, we've got Seinfeld, Spiderman, Different Strokes, Ghostbusters...I'm probably missing something else too.

Oh I think he's just getting started on that.
Larkin seems to have no idea what to do with those.

Re: John Sadak, Barry Larkin, AND Chris Welsh
It's only a matter of time before he drops a Simpsons reference, and I'll probably lose my sh##. And I'm guessing that Larkin didn't watch TV or play video games 8-12 hours a day like the rest of us did from age 13 to 23.

Sadak asked Larkin if he had seen Curb Your Enthusiasm. Larkin said no and Sadak said Larkin has some homework to do.

Also, aren’t hall or fame baseball players by definition “elites”?
Kinda funny when you think about how the poster child for “analytics elites” is Bill James who was a security guard at a factory for most of his adult life.

Maybe it’s just me, but there is nothing wrong with some dead air. Talking for the sake of talking about completely unrelated to baseball things is something that should be used like a spice. With a deft touch and as an accent. Not a main course.
I’m not talking Joe Nuxhall level, but let my mind breathe a little.
