Tonight's Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game is Mets RHP Rafael Montero, who pitched 8⅓ innings allowing no runs on 3 hits with 8 K's to get the win.
On pace for 68-94.
I was at the game. What a stinker to sit and watch that. We made Montero look like an ace. One hit through 8 innings. The 9th was exciting but that was it. The tickets were given to me and they were great seats. Otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Oh well. As far as I'm concerned, football season starts tomorrow and given the Reds position baseball takes a back seat until Spring Training
I understand where Morgan was coming from with all of this about less walks would equal more hits but I don't agree with him about it. For one thing if someone like Morgan or Votto swung more they would be swinging at pitches outside their comfort zone not mention outside the strike zone. IMO this would only equal a minimal amount of more hits. I highly doubt it would have got Morgan to 3000 hits.
Still it was good to hear Morgan in the booth. He's still much more refreshing that than bag of wind named Thom.
