Re: 9-16-20 Reds vs Pirates
Nevermind here it is, there were some doubts that he could stick at shortstop:
Quote:
Suarez is slight of frame but displays a compact, line-drive-oriented swing. The 23-year-old possesses decent plate discipline, logging no more than a 19.9 percent strikeout rate in any full season at the minor league level.
Suarez isn't going to wow anybody at the plate, and it would be surprising to see him continue to hit as well as we've seen at any minor league level—he has a career .278 minor league average (.288 in 2014). However, it's very possible he could outhit Zack Cozart.
While his offensive game might be enough to get him a job as the team's starting shortstop over the light-hitting Cozart, his defensive game will certainly need some work. In 81 games played at shortstop last season, Suarez was worth a disappointing minus-five defensive runs saved.
What I see in Suarez, though, is a player who has a solid feel for the middle of the infield and the ability to turn a double play quickly from both sides of the bag.

I'm a believer that Pythag record gives a good back of the napkin future win expectancy.
The Reds are actually outplaying their pythag record (24-27) by a game.
Mets and Giants would be WC teams based on pythag. Reds/Brewers would be out. Just an observation.

Can you trust Pythag record with a short season like this?

Phillies losing. Reds would be a half game back of the 7th playoff spot if that holds.

You don't remember all the calls to get rid of him an account of his errors at short? lol

Ya I don’t buy Pythag this early on pure talent level. A lot of luck underneath driving the variables that I would say underrate the Reds offense.
Pythag should coincide pretty well with who actually makes the playoffs, but not really on who deserves to make the playoffs.

Castillo and Casali have been particularly in sync with each other. In five starts together, Castillo has a 1.32 ERA, compared to a 5.33 ERA when Tucker Barnhart is behind the plate for him.

The way he is pitching, he can choose whomever he wants.

So don't expect anything crazy like 49 home runs.

Maybe they meant for 2020.
