i opened up a spot.
in the last 2-3 weeks my team has been on fire and moved up from 6th place (79 points) to 3rd place (92 points). this was after my annual mid season purge/reload.
never give up!
never surrender!
I'm just happy to not be clinching last place at this point in the season.
I am back. I had lost my internet connection in a storm. I have moved to a new house and bought my first ever laptop.
I'm here to announce that this will be my last season in the league. It's been a ton of fun, but I'd like to spend less time on fantasy baseball and more time focusing on other things. I'm willing to give up my team any time, so if a new owner would like to join sooner than later, I'm ready to hand over the keys. Hit up AtomicDumpling if you're interested. Here's the roster:

Unfortunately I traded the 1st and 2nd round picks already, so that leaves the team with three 3rd rounders, a 4th rounder, and a 5th rounder to work with going into next season.
this year I decided I was going to wait until Yahoo got their site up and running to even think about fantasy baseball. in recent years I've been ready way too early. I was doing soooooo well. then today I was at CVS waiting to get a prescription filled and wandering around the store. they had a magazine rack. with the Sporting News 2017 fantasy baseball magazine. the Devil made me do it! I bought it and after reading it & spending way too much time online I am well into my draft prep, trade ideas and sleepers. when does the draft start? AD, lets get this party started!

Ditto that brother.
Waiting for Yahoo to open for business as I have many guys with position elgibilty unknown.
Kris Bryant 1B? Sign me up.
Kyle Schwarber C? A little help please God.
I think I've accidentally stumbled into having a pretty flexible roster for this year.
Are you still out Vampire Weekend at Bernies? We'll miss you. (But will need a replacement)
Yahoo usually opens up fantasy right around Super Bowl time. I'm guessing it will probably be another week or two. I will re-launch the league as soon as it opens. Time to start planning your keepers and drops. I hope Camisadelgolf decides to keep playing!
this is going to be the year your multi year rebuild pays off. if I recall you have Bryant, Betts, Turner, Schwarber, Reyes & probably 2-3 other young studs I forgot about.
I think the planets aligned a bit for me last year. I can think of probably six teams that could win this year.

paging Nick...yahoo is up and running!

I'm ready to step down from my team this year. Ideally I'd have a co-owner, but I imagine anyone entering the league would strongly prefer full control, which is understandable. Anyway I just didn't have the time to be as active as I would've liked last year, and I'm only getting busier as time goes on. For anyone interested, here's my team's current roster:
C Yasmani Grandal
C J.T. Realmuto
C Austin Hedges
1B Edwin Encarnacion
1B Greg Bird
1B Adrian Gonzalez
1B/SS Brad Miller (will probably gain 2B eligibility in April)
2B Brian Dozier
2B Neil Walker
2B Dilson Herrera
3B Josh Donaldson
3B Jung Ho Kang (may have SS eligibility at some point this year)
3B/SS Jose Reyes
SS Jorge Mateo (probably a 2B or OF down the line)
OF Yoenis Cespedes
OF Charlie Blackmon
OF Michael Brantley
OF Kole Calhoun
OF Kevin Kiermaier
OF Cameron Maybin
SP Noah Syndergaard
SP Jake Arrieta
SP Jon Lester
SP David Price
SP Rich Hill
SP James Paxton
SP Robbie Ray
SP/RP Reynaldo Lopez
RP Craig Kimbrel
RP Adam Ottavino
RP Cam Bedrosian
RP Addison Reed
RP Jeanmar Gomez
RP Dellin Betances
RP Keone Kela
RP Arodys Vizcaino

Thank you to Atomic Dumpling for doing a wonderful job as commissioner, and thank you to all of you in the league for making these years so much fun. I'd love to hang around, but my touring schedule has made it too difficult to thrive in such a talented, dedicated league. With a couple good moves, I could see this team winning another championship. Good luck to all of you.
I looked at my roster. I'm not sure how it got so full of complete chaff. yikes. I have about 7 guys I want to dump.
- Brett
Hey guys, I am working on setting up the league right now. I will need a list of cuts from each of you. You can keep 30 players plus 5 NA players.
Anybody else notice the player universe seems incomplete? No NA players for you to even add to our teams, Atomic...
New Players Become Available: Wait until called up to Majors View List of Forced Players
I found this under league settings...all the NA guys are on the Forced Player link if you are on the site. Seems like that may be the culprit. I don't know if they will automatically rejoin our teams if that setting is reversed.
Just in case so I don't forget...I had/have A. Meadows, F. Martes, A. Espinoza, V. Robles and D. Tate as my NA guys...I think that was it. Unless AD has a master list you may want to be remembering who you had just in case...since we aren't sure what is going on.
Nick,
I'll cut Domingo Santana to get to 30 players.
Jason Hammel isn't showing up on my roster (because he is an N/A) but if he signs somewhere I'll cut him too.
I have 3 N/A players: J P Crawford, Tyler O'Neill & Devers.
- Brett
I think I'm still one over.
I'll also drop Asbrubal Cabrera.
- Brett
I'm an idiot. I forgot we now do our own keepers on the league site.
my keepers are done.
p.s.
I'm interested in trading for another starting pitcher.
what high quality guys am I dangling?
glad you asked.
1) 3B Nick Castellanos
2) RP A J Ramos (Marlins closer)
3) RP Sam Dyson (Rangers closer)
4) possibly Scott 'MVP' Schebler
- Brett
Thanks for the heads-up guys. I fixed the issue that caused our NA players to not appear on our rosters. Keepers are due on Friday night. Go to your team page and hit Select Keepers. Select 30 players. Do not keep your NA players -- I will add them back to your team after the keeper deadline.
On the keeper screen in the blue row at the top it states keepers must be set by Thursday 1159pm. It appears the minute the clock hits Friday keepers lock (per Yahoo). Either way is fine by me. But there is a discrepancy. Just trying to avoid confusion for anyone. Thanks AD.
I think I know the answer to this but I will still ask.
Austin Meadows by all means should be an NA guy. Not on the 40 man. Never played in the majors. He disappeared when the NA guys disappeared.
But Yahoo lists him as DTD not NA. Is this just one of those Yahoo glitches we just have to deal with? (cough-Cody Reed-cough) I'm guessing that is the case but just wondering...I just don't know if the DTD is somehow hiding NA status. I know the rule is pretty straight forward...you are NA if you have the NA next to you...but just wanted to check since he disappeared the other day.
It is definitely possible the DTD is hiding the NA status. I can try putting him on the NA roster but no guarantees. Perhaps the DTD will be removed before the keeper deadline.
Keep in mind we will have to drop additional players at draft time if you have a full roster. So even if you have to drop an extra player now to keep Meadows, chances are the extra dropped player is a guy you wouldn't keep past the draft anyway. And we are all in pretty much the same boat with this situation. Most of us have players that should be NA but are not yet.
Ben/all,
the issue is Meadows is on the 40 man roster so he won't be listed as N/A until he gets optioned to the minors in late March.
- Brett
I know it's last-minute, but I still can't figure out the NA situation.
You select 30 keepers on the Yahoo site. If a player has NA next to his name I will add him to your team after the keeper deadline (Friday night). I can add up to five NAs to each team.
Forrest Wall is your only NA player. I will add him to your team this weekend after you select your 30 keepers.
It seems like Yahoo doesn't even have everything figured out just yet. There hasn't been an update on NA players either. Perhaps pushing the date back would make sense. There's still plenty of time to get a draft done.
For example there are players who aren't even on 40-man rosters that aren't listed as NA. There just isn't consistency in how Yahoo has it set up right now and doesn't seem like it would be fair to everyone in the league.
I'm fine with whatever is agreed upon FYI.
Are you still with us for awhile Camisa?
I apologize for not chiming in earlier (sometimes life gets in the way of taking care of things like fantasy baseball). I understand that we shouldn't push the deadline back too far because I know that taking care of adding players to rosters can be a hassle for a commish. But, personally, pushing the deadline back just 1-2 weeks would be wonderful because I have no idea who Cam and I should cut. The thing is in the past I seem to remember that Yahoo has added that NA designation later than they should have. So, it's possible that a prospect that doesn't have the tag could still get it just because Yahoo isn't always on top of things. Or maybe not.
Maybe 1 or 2 more weeks and (maybe?) if a prospect is dropped because he doesn't have the NA tag right not BUT gets the tag before the draft the team has the option of adding the prospect back to their team.
I processed the keeper selections. I added your NA players back to your teams. You can now set your lineups and make trades.
Everyone please check your rosters to make sure everything is correct.
I will allow all teams to make substitutions on their keepers for one week. If you want to make changes to your keepers (for any reason) you may do so until 10:00am on Saturday, February 18th. After that time all keepers will be final. This means for example that if one of your players gains NA status you may move him to your NA roster and replace him on your regular roster with one of the players you cut. Notify me if you wish to make a change.
Other topics:
-- Do not add any players prior to the draft.
-- I still need to adjust the Waiver Priority on the site.
-- I still need to determine the Draft Order to account for any draft picks that were traded last year. The updated draft order will be in the Commish Notes section whenever I get it done.
-- The draft will start approximately March 10th.
-- You can trade draft picks but keep in mind the draft picks in the online trading function as of now are 2018 picks. If you include a pick in a trade using the Yahoo system it will be a 2018 draft pick. You can still trade 2017 picks but those will have to be communicated via the Notes section and make sure you notify me so I can manually adjust this year's draft order.
thanks for doing all this Nick.

am I reading this right: is Steven (camisadelgolf) co-managing Dan's team? that's what yahoo says under 'managers'. are you guys banding together to get your titles back?
or is this a mistake & Steven is co-managing his old team (Razor Shines)?
- Brett
I plan to employ the same strategy as last year. stay close and have my rival's teams get decimated by injuries.
