The point was to blow the game and his successful outing in order to get Homer to a mythical point of readiness for 2018, I know.

Bob was dominating last night and as soon as the 7th rolled around you and a few others were screaming for Price to take him out of there before he even gave up a hit. Going by your logic, Castillo should have been out of there after 6.

No, the point was that Bailey had six low stress, relatively easy innings and only 77 pitches thrown. Not that he was dominant.

Bob was impressive but he wasn't dominating.

Bob is much improved but walking 5 guys, including the pitcher twice - isn't dominating.

Unless Shack suddenly started looking a lot more like Castillo, that's still Luis in there.

Allowed a single but nothing else, 8th inning ends on pitch 111. Well done, Luis.
Re: 9/6/2017 Reds vs Brewers DAY Game
My box score shows Luis finished the 8th.
8 IP, 4 H, 0 BB, 0 R, 10 K
Re: 9/6/2017 Reds vs Brewers DAY Game
Done with 8 and over 100 pitches. I'd say he's done. But the kid was still hitting 99 that inning.

That depends on your definition of domination. The Brewers scored more off Castillo than they did off Bob for 6 innings. Why not take Castillo out after 6 just in case the Brewers happened to score again and shatter his confidence?

1 run. Dinger by Neil Walker who wouldn't even exist if his dad had gotten on that plane.

Who said Bob's confidence or worries that he'll be "shattered" had anything to do with it? He gave you 6 really good but not perfect innings on 90-something pitches. Call it a day for the kid.
Re: 9/6/2017 Reds vs Brewers DAY Game
Very good starting pitching for the Reds this series against a good offensive team.

Hader is like the Brewer version of Cody Reed. We'll have that in our bullpen once they give up on Reed as a starter.
