Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Caden Clark just scored a goal in each of his first two games for NYRB. He is 17. Another kid (like Aronson with RB Salzburg) who will be signed in month or two by a European club.
Amazing talent being shown by US youth at the moment. Next, we have to get them playing together for the USMNT.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
For the first time ever, Orlando City is headed to the playoffs. Yeah, expanded playoffs and weird schedules and all, but they've earned it. Can't say enough about the job Oscar Pareja has done with that bunch.

A 16-year old scored in the 93rd minute for his first MLS goal and snatch victory away from the Timbers giving LAFC a point.

AAAAGGHHHH!
Again, Portland gives up a goal in the 93rd minute to blow a 1-0 lead,...this time against Seattle.
Oy-vey!

Yes indeed! Besides getting 3 points from the team at the top of the table, it was also broadcast in the UK. A friend of mine was texting me about it from Bexhill-on-Sea.

Yimmi Chara has a legitimate shot at MVP of the MLS playoffs.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Congrats to the Crew on their playoff win.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Safe to say Orlando City's first playoff win is one their fans will never forget. That shootout was just pure craziness. For those who didn't see it:
* NYCFC was shooting first. Shot #1 hit the crossbar.
* The rest went to form through four rounds, OC was up 4-3 as NYCFC stepped up for round five.
* Pedro Gallese saved the shot, setting off pandemonium.
* But wait! After a review, he came off the line too early. NYCFC got a retake. But first! MLS is still playing under the rules where coming off the line early is a mandatory yellow even for a first offense. Gallese was already on a yellow for time-wasting in extra time. Sent. Off.
* OC's backup keeper came on.
* But wait! After several minutes of confusion, the officials finally (and correctly) realized Rowe couldn't sub in. It had to be a player on the pitch at the end of extra time.
* Ricardo Schlegel, a backup defender, took the gloves and went in goal.
* NYCFC scored on the retake. But Orlando still had the chance to win in the bottom half of round five, and...
* Nani's shot was saved.
* Both teams scored in round 6.
* Somehow, despite not even diving, Schlegel saved the next shot. There's the whistle! Pandemonium again!
* But wait! The game wasn't actually over, it was still tied 5-5.
* Michel stepped up and buried his shot to win the game for real this time, over 20 minutes after the shootout began.
* More pandemonium.
I read somewhere a long time ago that a fan base hasn't truly matured until it has lore and grievances. This will definitely count as lore.
I also read the officiating crew won't be working any more games during the playoffs, not after that clown show. "Most MLS game ever" was a frequent comment yesterday.

Great post IR.

Btw, congrats to the Minnesota fan here on their playoff win.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
Disappointed with the result of the Portland- Dallas match. The 92nd minute goal for Dallas was too easy, just a ball over the top right in the middle of the park.
I will miss watching Valeri’s skill until next year. His touch to Villafeana for the 80th minute goal was sublime. And his chip off the left post at the end of extra time was another beautiful piece of skill. He is great to watch.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
For the 6th time, POR gave away a win with an extra-time goal, and for the 3rd time in a row to someone under 18 years of age.
Don't understand this.
Re: Cincinnati soccer/MLS
That was not fun. Wasn't the first time, the second time, the third time,...
