I'm not a big 80s guy, mostly because of the instrumentation. The drums sound thin. Unimaginative use of synths. Not enough bottom end. But I maintain that this band and Midge Ure's songwriting is criminally underappreciated in America. I'd like it better without the weedly-weedly-wee keyboard choices and more live drums over the dated 80s ones. But great melodies. I'm sure somewhere in Britain there's a good bar band that playing these songs with drum set, organ, bass, and limited-effects guitars. And I bet it sounds amazing.
