Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
I like the idea of keeping the core of the Chattanooga team together, assuming health and current production. The Reds farm teams have done a ton of losing in recent years and I think it's beneficial for the group to experience success together. I'd bring the big three, and a few of the other interesting Lookout pieces, up to Louisville at the same time. I agree with BZ, no reason to send them individually to play for the mess that is Louisville.

Tough crowd. :)
Stevie Branche's stats might not look so hot at first glance, but he has struck out 14 of the 30 batters that he has faced. Branche was recently selected to the Rochester Institure of Technology's All-Decade (2010-2020 version). Kudos!

it's not just Chattanooga. Dayton looks good this year. And Daytona's talent level is really high offensively. I'd want them to experience that winning culture and play off each other for at least half a season. I'd be loathe to change anything yet just because it's been so long that Red minor leaguers have had good teams.
What's interesting is that the Reds seem to have a line of 2B at worthy (so far) of call-ups. Lopez in AAA works, in part, because Rey needs AA. Callihan could also be challenged with A+ in Dayton.
Starting pitching is the same. Greene and Lodolo to AAA? Sure. That means Noah Davis and Lyon Richardson go to AA-- which is defensible. Who goes to A+ from Daytona? Proctor and Kravetz have some ridiculous numbers and are old enough to probably handle it.

For sure. We're only two weeks into the season after not playing games for more than a year. I'd wait until mid-July or so before making any major promotions.
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Glad to see Howard having some success again.
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Time for an update. A couple notes: If you are promoted, only your new stats are counted. (I'm looking at you Brian Rey). If you didn't have a .900 OPS as a hitter you didn't make the cut. No hitters from AAA or High A made the cut. This makes our prospect list (like our system) very pitcher heavy.
And although I didn't establish a hard limit, I'm trying to eliminate the small sample folks. And having watched too many walks with Reds, if you did not have an outstanding ratio, you didn't make the cut. A couple people fell victim to that.
1. Mark Kolosvary - C - AA - Hangs on to top spot with .349 Avg, .417 OBP and 1.091 OPS. He's had a bad week but he's headed off for Team USA
2. Jose Garcia - SS - AA - Edged out by teammate. .323 Avg, .394 OBP, and 1.041 OPS. If only we weren't so stacked at SS at the big club.
3. Vincent Timpanelli - P - Low A - Still given up no hits. 0.00 ERA 6.1 innings, 11 K's.
4. Reiver Sanmartin - P - AA. 0.50 ERA. 23/8 K ratio in 18 innings
5. Nick Lodolo - P - AA - 0.57 ERA 24/5 ratio in 15.2 innings.
6. James Proctor - P - Low A - 0.53 ERA 27/6 ratio in 17 innings
7. Michael Byrne - P - AA - 0.00 ERA 7/1 ratio in 11 innings. Only 4 hits
8. Evan Kravetz - P - Low A - 0.79 ERA. 20/6 ratio in 11.1 innings
9. Braxton Roxby - P - High A - 0.00 ERA 14/5 ratio in 7 innings
10. Tanner Cooper - P - Low A - 0.87 ERA. 13/3 ratio in 10.1 innings. 3 hits
11. Francis Peguero - P - High A - 0.00 ERA and 6/1 ration in 6 innings. 2 hits
12. Leonardo Rivas - 3b - AA - .353 Avg, .463 OBP, .934 OPS
13. Alejo Lopez, 2b - AA - .387 Avg, .465 OBP, .932 OPS
14. Carson Speirs - P - Hi A - 1.02 ERA 21/4 ratio in 17 innings.
15. Hunter Greene - P - AA - 1.69 ERA. 33/8 ratio in 21 innings. 11 hits.
16. Pedro Garcia - P - Low A - 1.50 ERA. 18/2 ratio in 12 innings. 7 hits
17. Rickey Karcher - P Low A - 1.69 ERA 12/5 ratio in 5 innings. 0 hits
18. Tony Santillan - P - AAA - 1.86 ERA. 23/6 ratio in 19 innings.
19. Dauri Moreta - P - AA - 1.86 ERA 13/2 ratio in 9 innings.
20. Spencer Stockton - P - 1.42 ERA 10/3 ration in 12 innings. 7 hits.
A lot of very borderline calls this week.
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Monday update time. This seemed like a pretty bad week down in prospect land. The most interesting development was the appearance of a new name in the prospect list. Jose Barrera. Barrera profiles much like Jose Garcia. Same age (same birthday in fact). Same size, same position. It will be interesting to compare their careers going forward. My gut reaction is that Barrera is the real deal and Garcia will just fade away.
I've removed Kolosvary till he returns and can defend his title.
1. James Proctor - P - Low A - 0.45 ERA and 30/6 K ratio. 9 hits in 20 innings.
2. Jose Garcia - SS - AA - .323 Avg, .394 OBP, and 1.041 OPS.
3. Jose Barrera - SS - AA - .300 Avg, .383 OBP, .968.
4. Nick Lodolo - P - AA - 1.01 ERA, 38/6 Ratio. 16 hits in 26 innings. Had blistering fastball last time out.
5. Leonardo Rivas - SS - AA - .349 Avg, .491 OBP, 1.003 OPS. Only about 1/2 the at bats as the regulars, but makes the best of them.
6. Evan Kravetz - P - Low A - 1.69 ERA, 26/9 K ratio, 6 hits in 16 innings.
7. Braxton Roxby - P - High A - 0.00 ERA 18/6 ratio, 3 hits in 10 innings
8. Nick Howard - P - AA - 0.00 ERA, 14/4 ratio, 3 hits in 9 innings.
9. Michael Byrne, P - AA - 0.64 ERA 12/2 ratio, 7 hits in 14 innings.
10. Rickey Karcher - P - Low A - 1.69 ERA, 12/5 ration, 0 hits in 5. Resting on laurels. On DL. Will come off list if he doesn't pitch this week.
11. Hunter Greene - P - AA - 1.91 ERA, 41/9 ratio, 18 hits in 21 innings.
12. Dauri Moreta - P - AA - 1.42 ERA, 18/2 ratio, 7 hits in 12 innings.
13. Vladimir Gutierrez - P - MLB - 2.65 ERA, 21/7 ratio, 9 hits in 17 innings in AAA, and then 1.80 ERA in 1 start with Reds
14. Phillip Diehl - P - AAA - 1.04 ERA, 11/2 ratio
15. Carson Rudd - P - Low A - 2.08 ERA, 19/2 ratio, 8 hits in 13 innings
16. Tony Santillan - P - AAA - 2.49 ERA, 32/8 ratio, 20 hits in 25 innings.
17. Alejo Lopez - 2b - AA - .356 avg, .435 OBP, 870 OPS
18. Daniel Vellojin - C - Low A - .281 avg, .467 OBP, .873 OPS
19. Vincent Timpanelli - P - Low A - 2.16 ERA, 14/7 ratio, 1 hit in 8 innings.
20. Jacques Pucheu - P - High A - 0.69 ERA, 15/7 ratio, 5 hits in 13 innings.
Hope to have more hitters in the future.

Those two are such similar players that I'm shocked they have different stats.

I think it's because Barrera played this week, but Garcia did not.

Would it surprise anyone here, if they both got promoted to AAA together?
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
This was another "back to reality" week for a lot of prospects. A note: India is no longer eligible since he is in the majors and has exceeded rookie eligibility.
1. Nick Lodolo - P - AA - 1.01 ERA, 38/6 Ratio. 16 hits in 26 innings. Didn't pitch this week due to blister. People above him faltered, His numbers stand out. AA Pitcher of Month
2. James Proctor - P - Low A - 0.76 ERA and 33/19 K ratio. 12 hits in 23 innings. One average start this week knocks him down a notch. Low A Pitcher of Month
3. Alejo Lopez - 2b - AAA - .563 avg, .682 OBP, .1432 OPS in AAA after hitting this in AA - .356 avg, .435 OBP, 870 OPS
4. Braxton Roxby - P - High A - 0.00 ERA 19/7 ratio, 3 hits in 12 innings

6. Evan Kravetz - P - Low A - 1.29 ERA, 32/10 K ratio, 9 hits in 21 innings
7. Nick Howard - P - AA - 0.00 ERA, 16/4 ratio, 4 hits in 10 innings.
8. Michael Byrne, P - AA - 0.61 ERA 12/2 ratio, 8 hits in 15 innings.

14. Lyon Richardson - P - High A - 1.33 ERA 25/10 ratio

20. Mark Kolosvary - C - AA - .349 Avg, .417 OBP and 1.091 OPS. Playing well for Team USA
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Seeing all those low ERA's makes it even more frustrating that the Reds are unwilling to promote some of those arms to bolster our anemic bullpen
Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Hunter Greene gets bumped to AAA and Lodolo still throws a blistering fastball. The luster went off a lot of pitching numbers this week.
1. Nick Lodolo - P - AA - 0.90 ERA, 45/6 Ratio. 19 hits in 30 innings. Only 3 innings this week due to blister.
2. Alejo Lopez - 2b - AAA - .375 avg, .510 OBP, .1186 OPS in AAA after hitting this in AA - .356 avg, .435 OBP, 870 OPS

Re: JaxRed's Weekly Monday Off-Day Top Prospect List - Performance Based
Another pretty disappointing week for prospects. Rules are rules. I don't expect this to last forever. But the rule is when you get promoted you are judged on your stats at the new level and Hunter Greene has a 9.00 ERA at AAA. So he's off the list.
And since this is stats based - A lot of AAAA players are going to make this list.
1. Nick Lodolo - P - AA - 0.90 ERA, 45/6 Ratio. 19 hits in 30 innings. On DL with blister issue
2. Alejo Lopez - 2b - AAA - .388 avg, .481 OBP, .1093 OPS in AAA after hitting this in AA - .356 avg, .435 OBP, 870 OPS
3. Vladimir Gutierrez - P - MLB - 2.74 ERA, 21/7 ratio, 9 hits in 17 innings in AAA, and then 3.88 ERA in 5 starts with Reds
4. Jose Barrera - SS - AA - .326 Avg, .388 OBP, .892 OPS.
5. Dauri Moreta - P - AA - 0.84 ERA, 33/5 ratio, 10 hits in 21 innings
6. Braxton Roxby - P - High A - 0.56 ERA 28/11 ratio, 4 hits in 16 innings. Had some control issues this week.
7. Mark Payton - OF - AAA - .304 avg, .360 OBP, .896 OPS. Just can't take it to next level
8. Cionel Perez - P - AAA - 0.90 ERA and 12/3 ratio. He isn't walking guys in AAA
9. RJ Alainiz - P - AAA - 1.83 ERA 26/6 ratio
10. Mark Kolosvary - C - AA - .292 Avg, .364 OBP and .868 OPS. Slipped a bit two weeks in a row.
11. Phillip Diehl - P - AAA - 2.37 ERA, 25/3 ratio.
12. Michael Byrne, P - AA - 1.00 ERA 14/2 ratio, 9 hits in 18 innings.
13. Nick Howard - P - AA - 1.72 ERA, 26/6 ratio,
14. Evan Kravetz - P - Low A - 1.64 ERA, 33/10 K ratio, 10 hits in 22 innings (went on DL)
15. James Proctor - P - Low A - 1.71 ERA and 43/17 K ratio.
16. Graham Ashcraft - P - High A - 2.33 ERA 55/13/ratio in 38 innings. Had dominant week
17. Eddy Demurias - AA - After 0.00 ERA in Dayton, sports a 0.84 ERA in AA after 10 innings.
18. Pedro Garcia - P - Low A - 1.50 ERA 18/2 ratio.
