BTW the Accuscore projection on ESPN.com's game preview, only gives the Reds a 32% shot today. Lord knows we have struggled with Carpenter.
I hope the clubhouse boys properly dirtied up the balls today ;)
If they won't let GABP have a humidor ...
1. D. Stubbs, CF
2. D. Sutton, SS
The Drew Attack is back.
Wells goes full to the first two hitters, inducing Schumaker to ground to second and then striking out Rasmus swinging.
Colby Rasmus is struggling with the same problems Bruce dealt with earlier this season. Just like Bruce he got off to a real hot start and has really cooled off since the league got the book on him.
Wells throws 10 pitches to Pujols and goes full with him before inducing another groundout, this time to Sutton at short.
0-0 mid first
Stubbs grounds out to third to start off the bottom of the first for the Reds.
Cards out in order in the first. Now get the slick baseball's out for Carpenter. :)
Sutton Ks looking on a pitch right below his knees.
Howdy folks. Just checking in before I head to lunch and I'm glad Wells got through the first inning. Hopefully when I get back to my desk with my lunch the Reds are up by a run or two and Carpenter has thrown about 30 pitches, LOL ;) :D
Votto grounds out to first to end the inning.
0-0 after 1
Cardinals announcers piling hate on Kip Wells.
They were noting how Wells' had 'poor body language' with the Cardinals and that Dave Duncan did all he could but Wells didn't want to be better.
And I think they realized they were piling it on because they suddenly came out with "He has a great arm though, but..."
Grand Slam Chris Carpenter. Yesh.
