He has outstanding control and for the most part has 2 good pitches. Hes not stud pitching prospect but hes still a pretty good shot at being a mid to back end rotation pitcher because of his ability to throw everything where he wants it.
He was a 3rd round talent that the Reds got in the 6th. I think thats what most people are happy about.
Not a great prospect but still very good with a lot of very solid tools.

Agreed. I think he will be a fast mover though the system. If his stuff is as advertised he could be in AA by the end of 2012.
Re: Official 2010 Reds Signed Draft Picks Thread
There was a story saying the Cards wanted to sign Cisco as a supplemental 1st rounder but couldn't see eye to eye on money before the draft.
Makes it extra nice that the Reds got him.
Re: Official 2010 Reds Signed Draft Picks Thread
Getting HS guys to sign after the 5th round is tough. You can really get some 1st round value in those guys. The Reds IMO, have excelled in this and found some success in these guys in recent drafts so far.

Good command and movement on all of his pitches.
From what I'm hearing it sounds like he will be of the Mike Leake mold.
Re: Official 2010 Reds Signed Draft Picks Thread
Though not Reds related, I haven't seen anything about the Cardinals signing any of Cox, Swagerty, or Wilson thus far. Such a shame...that definitely won't help their farm system...

The Cards board has comfirmed the Swagerty signing. Someone with "inside knowledge" says Cox has alreagy agreed to a deal, but it doesn't sound that certain.

The Reds will sign first-round catcher Yasmani Grandal to a major league deal worth $2.99MM, according to MLB.com's Jonathan Mayo. The University of Miami product becomes the first 2010 draftee to sign a major league deal and will receive a 40-man roster spot.
Re: Official 2010 Reds Signed Draft Picks Thread
With Cisco and Grandal signed today,Who else should The Reds be trying to sign before the deadline? I am hoping they sign a couple of the other top 20 picks.

Peterson indicated he was heading to West Point, turned down a $250K bonus.

Wow. Good for him.
Re: Official 2010 Reds Signed Draft Picks Thread
Jim Callis says Cisco's $975k bonus is the highest for someone drafted in the 5th round or later. I think it speaks to what the Reds brass thought of this young man.
