yes if the Cards get the wild card I think being the team with the 2nd best record and facing the winner of the west would be much preferable to facing the Cards as a wild card. Especially this year with the ridiculous schedule of the best team having to travel to start at the wild card team

We'll see what happens.
I never made any predictions, so there aren't any that can be considered correct or incorrect. All I ever said was that I felt St. Louis was a better team by a decent margin, and that I considered that to be more important than scheduling so I would rather root for Pittsburgh in situations they were head-to-head. That wasn't really a prediction, just an assessment of circumstances.
If they lose this game, they'll be 20-22 since the All-Star break. They had a few really good months of baseball. It was a nice story. Now it's time to acknowledge they're a decent team, but that's the extent of it. It doesn't mean they're out of the race or can't go on a tear, but I think we're seeing the regression a lot of people anticipated for a few months.

For all of the articles written about how pitchers become good, I've love for someone to logically explain how all of these Cardinals hitters become elite when they put on the Redbird uniform.

Stealing signs, magic elixirs, really good advanced scouting. Some of or all of those may be inaccurate.
