Re: NLDS Game 1 - Reds at Giants 10/6/12
Hopefully we can keep leaning on some luck long enough until Latos gets it going.

He's been touching 94 hasn't he? Or has it fallen off in this inning?

I'm not seeing any problems with Latos for the record

Tonight is asking a lot of Latos. He just needs to grind this out on a night he never expected to be pitching.
Crawford strikes out swinging. 3-0 Reds after 4.

Nice comeback by Latos to get the K. That inning could have been trouble, great play by Votto helped much.

After 4 innings, Reds 3, Giants 0.
Cain at 62 pitches, 37 strikes.
Latos at 32 pitches, 20 strikes.

Re: NLDS Game 1 - Reds at Giants 10/6/12
In the interview with TBS that last inning, Dusty said he wants Latos to bridge to the late inning relievers.
So expect Mat to go four innings, possibly five. Expect to see some or all of Marshall, Brox, and Chappy.

Latos was getting squeezed too. He could have quite a few less pitches.

Re: NLDS Game 1 - Reds at Giants 10/6/12
If Latos can get them through the 6th, it would be awesome.

We are already at 3.5 times the amount of posts during the Reds only no-hitter in 24 years.

Honestly...luck has a lot to do with winning in the playoffs...that Play by Votto is a perfect example...he jumped up and it went in his glove...it was smoked

Add a couple of runs aand let Hoover have at least one of those innings if there isn't a save opp.

Latos strikes out looking.

Easily.

I know Latos is struggling a bit, but if he goes two more innings and keeps this lead intact, that could be huge.

ah...no. You nail down this game. Like it's 1-0...Travel/rest day after 2 games. Pitch Broxton and Chapman
