Latos is a better bat than Cairo or Valdez IMO.

Cain is a good hitting pitcher. Be careful here.

They probably wanted to make is as normal as possible for him. I know it sounds stupid, but him warming up, even his full warmup, for 45 minutes on the game mound may throw him off. This allows him to warm up in the bullpen as normal.

Now you can PH for LeCure and bring Latos in for the 3rd.
