At the same time, the pressure was already ON Corbin. He's going to do everything he can to get ahead. The best bet for a pitch in the heart of the zone during that AB was on the first pitch. He hasn't been wild tonight so the odds of a WP or HBP is pretty slim. Working the count works when a guy isn't pounding the strike zone on the black like Corbin is tonight. If you see a pitch you can drive...take a whack at it regardless of what # pitch it is in the AB IMO.
The Reds right handed hitters have to win this game. Cannot expect Votto, Choo, and Bruce to do damage tonight. If they do, it's gravy.
Against a pitcher like Corbin, if you score three and lose, you tip your cap.
But if you get shut out, the righty part of your lineup hasn't done it's job.
Double switch. LeCure is done. Hoover in.
LeCure gave up an 0-2 hit to the pitcher. Now the DBacks have the bases loaded with only one out and Paul Goldschmidt up.
Gotta find a way to get out of this without runs being scored....your obvious statement of the night!
Should have gone with the curve there.
Everything is perfect, but there is a lot of room for improvement. --- Shunryu Suzuki-roshi
Tough situation for Hoover.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
Surprised Dusty made this move. Hope it works.
