    They want a guy who can defend the critical shortstop position.

    Such players, when backups, seldom can hit well.

    Teams view it as important to have good defenders in the middle of the infield.

    I don't think it was a slam. Just the truth. This team is very quiet. Most likely because they don't have a real clubhouse leader.

    I haven't heard one way or another, but if I had to bet...I'd say Tony strained his back trying to beat out that bunt single.

    Well, I'm not going to nitpick. It was extremely close and could've gone either way IMO. The homer in me says he was safe. But I'm old enough to know that it's me being a homer.
