Must stink when you have to throw it middle of the plate, thigh high to get a strike called.

I would love to see somebody go to the data after this series and see how the zone was called against each team.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I feel as if I have to watch these games but I don't want too. Kind of like a flu shot...

I think I'm just going to only watch when the Reds are batting.

I by nature am not a cuss, throw chairs, etc type of guy. I played football not baseball so maybe I'm off here but, had we played like this against our rival and got a second chance in the playoffs and gave up an early TD on a turnover IT would hit the fan by numerous people on the club. This group just seems casually moving through life.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.

Joe Kelly should absolutely be included in the all underrated team. Kids got better pure stuf than any Reds pitcher not named Chapman.

I have to disagree with you there. Bailey, Cingrani, Cueto, and Latos all have better stuff than Kelly, IMO.

He's a pretty solid pitcher though.

    Another quality AB from Ludwick.

I'm still not over last night and tonight, after 1+, looks like it's going to be even worse.

Maybe they come back and win this thing tonight, but I'm not seeing it.

I'll check back in when we leave St. Louis. Just too frustrating to watch.

    I don't even think he's that solid. Career FIP/xFIP of 4, k/9 a hair over 6, BB/9 a little over 3.

I have a strong suspicion that it wouldn't matter. The problems with the Reds v the Cards run far deeper than the strike zone.

I suspect that if the Reds had a strike zone twice as big as the Cardinals' tonight, they'd still lose by 5 runs. And I think most everyone knows I'm right about that. These guys have all collectively pooped the bed. And as you know, pooped beds can't be unpooped.
