followed by a lousy swing for 3rd strike -- man -- there is lost and then there is Votto
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

    I miss Raisor

It sucks watching Votto struggle like this I mean it REALLY sucks but we all know there is going to be hell to pay for opposing pitchers when he gets out of this and it is only a matter of time.

Votto swung at ball 4. I've never seen him struggle this badly. Like last night, Reds are already leaving a ton of runners on base.

What a great bunt by Cingrani to keep the inning going.

Man, if Votto keeps this up he won't be hitting .270 by October

It would be kind of hard to go 0 for September.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Literally just as the broadcast team said "This team really needs Votto to hit if this team is gonna go where they want to go."

Yeah. That. Exactly. Still plenty of game left and we are ahead however much less than we should be.

Not really, I'm pretty sure I could do it.

Wonder if Votto is too consumed with the "wait it out" philosophy, too involved with walks. Wonder if he would do better being a little more aggressive at the plate and not worrying so much about potentially swinging at a ball.

He just seems to be thinking too much up there. See the ball, hit the ball.

Then, when he is in a better groove, he can start getting super selective again.

    Just a theory.

Stevie Wonder would be able to strike Joey Votto out at this point.

I thought Votto doesn´t think about all the stuff that is written and said in cincinnati media, but the way he is playing for a month I´m not sure anymore...

he just doesn´t look like himself... swinging at bad pitches (like this one out of the strike zone)..

I want to see the real votto again

    @ kc

"He just seems to be thinking too much up there. See the ball, hit the ball. "

I think that was always his approach, hitting the good ones... the swing in his late at bat was out of the strike zone => that´s not the pitches he should swing at (and he usually doesn´t...)

I think he is chasing more pitches out of the zone now than I've ever seen before.

Yep. He'll be walking to first base with a vengeance before we know it.
