I suspect that it could be argued that the reason Chapman is looking so strong here in September, is that back in May, June and July, Baker did not bring him in for the 8th inning or have him get four out saves, or have him pitch two innings in a game. The big picture.

    G'night all.

Awesome game and series. And great fun here on the site tonight. Next best thing to being at GABP or the right bar in Cincinnati.

It could very well be. Might also have to do with the frequency of his use -- not just the length of the outings. Might just also be a coincidence. Whatever the case, I'll definitely take it!

He's looked exactly like this the entire season at GABP. His struggles have all come on the road.

Awesome stuff. Can't wait. 20 hours 'till we meet the little bears.

I thought it was horrendous that Chapman is in the bullpen at all. I thought virtually anybody could be pitching these ninth innings against Puig, Ramirez, Gonzalez, Holliday, Craig, et al.

Good point. But having a relief pitcher look the same way in September as he does in May is significant, and says something about management. And I suspect that's what Baker/Price were thinking about all along.
