Really, the only game that matters these last 2 weeks is next Tuesday. We should get Cueto, Latos, Bailey and Chapman lined up to pitch in that one.

I'm closer to agreeing with this after tonight but can't since I think home field for the WC playin matters for us.

How big is that extra road game the Reds were forced to play looking now?

That one... And our inability to seal the deal on a Sunday win in Pittsburgh... Or giving up back to back big flies in Philadelphia... Or a late inning jack on a late night in San Diego back in July.

In the end, it is what it is.

Or those games when we won when we weren't supposed to, like just last Friday. No matter what, 90+ wins is nothing to sneeze at.

Team has been in third chasing the leaders since late June. Nice run in September, dashed by the 2-4 week vs. the Cubs/Brew Crew and St Louis being ridiculously hot since they were beaten down in Cincinnati a few weeks back. As pointed out many times, the math of being 4-5 down to two teams is not kind barring a ridiculous winning streak - which just never happened in 2013.

Thank Bud Selig for the 5th playoff slot and do some damage next Tuesday and beyond.

Yes. Teams lose some they should have won. And win some they should have lost. But how many times does a team have a home game taken away from them?

Just one observation from last night... Corky was warming up Leake (still looking like a "father and son" catch). Not always, but that's usually the starting catcher's role. Maybe Rocco was getting some extra TLC?
