If you do not have any Skipped or Passed picks please do not add any players even after the last draft pick has been made. Re: League of Reds Nation - The Ultimate Dynasty

The draft is officially over. All teams are now able to add free agents at your leisure.

Thanks for a great draft guys! Everything went smoothly and quickly. We only had a couple of skipped picks. I think the use of text messages really sped up the pace of the draft this year. I hope everyone got some good players they are happy with and will make their team better. The deep crop of prospects in the player pool was awesome.

The first official MLB game this year is March 22nd, so be sure to have your starting lineups finalized by then.

Minor draft rule changes to take effect next year:

    1. The draft timer will be 8 hours instead of 10 hours.
    2. If your draft turn arises when you already have an unused Skipped or Passed pick from a previous round your turn will automatically be Passed to keep the draft moving. Any Skipped or Passed picks can be used at any time.

In a couple of years Roush is going to look like a genius for getting Dahl in the 4th.

Don't too far out in front of us Crosley68. We don't want anyone trouncing us like mbgrayson did last year.

Not that I'm near ready for the season to be over, but after the last couple seasons I'd be thrilled with a 4th place finish [current rank]. A fun league so far again this year.

Championships for MY teams in my lifetime:
    Cincinnati Reds - 75, 76, 90
    Chicago Blackhawks - 10, 13, 15
    University of Kentucky - 78, 96, 98, 12
    Chicago Bulls - 91, 92, 93, 96, 97, 98

You are kicking butt so far Joseph. I hope you continue to do well, but not well enough to beat me.

I finally climbed out of the cellar. My team is off to an absolutely brutal start all around.

It does seem like there have been more injuries than usual this year. At one point a month or so ago I had 8 players on the DL.

Congratulations to AtomicDumpling! You only beat me by two runs but I'm sure that's just how you planned it. I'd also like to thank you for putting this all together. Never thought I'd have fun playing in a fantasy league with no money on the line but as it turns out, this is one of my favorite leagues. Thanks to everyone else for playing!

Re: League of Reds Nation - The Ultimate Dynasty

I was looking back at prior seasons and I came across this doozy of a trade from August of 2012. The trade was between me and Bumstead, whose team is now owned by Hebroncougar. I received Dan Haren and Matt Harrison. I gave up Matt Harvey and Anthony Rendon. Ugh. Kill me now. Rendon and Harvey were still minor leaguers back then, but that doesn't take any of the sting away. Brutally bad judgement on my part.

Re: League of Reds Nation - The Ultimate Dynasty

Here is the updated record book after our 5th season of dynasty league action...

League of Reds Nation Record Book -- Single Season Records

    Code:
    Category	Total	Team Season

    Runs 1026	Atomic Dumpling	2011
Home Runs	282	Atomic Dumpling	2010
    RBIs 1058	Atomic Dumpling	2012
    Stolen Bases	232	HumnHilghtFreel	2010
Batting Average	.287	Captain Hook	2013

    Wins 100	Captain Hook	2014
    Saves 177	Atomic Dumpling	2010
    Strikeouts	1417	mbgrayson	2014
    ERA 2.83	Captain Hook	2014
    WHIP 1.08	Captain Hook	2014

    Total Points	111.5	mbgrayson	2013
Four of the eleven records were broken or tied in 2014:
    • Captain Hook became the first team to break the century mark in Wins. His 100 wins broke Vada Pinson Fan's record of 96 wins in 2010.
    • Mbgrayson set a new record with 1417 Strikeouts, breaking the old mark of 1400 set by Atomic Dumpling last year.
    • Captain Hook's 2.83 ERA was much better than the previous record, which was the 3.08 ERA posted by Iowa Red in 2011.
    • Captain Hook also set a new record with a 1.08 WHIP. The old record of 1.12 was set in 2011 by Bumstead and matched by reds1869 in 2013.

    Additional observations:
    • All of those new records were on the pitching side of the ledger, reflecting the phenomenon of lower scoring that we see in real baseball.
    • Three of the new records were set by Captain Hook, so we can safely say that his pitching staff was the best ever in the League of Reds Nation. Well done Captain!
    • Atomic Dumpling's 2.94 ERA this year broke the old record but was not as good as Captain Hook's 2.83.
    • Nobody even came close to breaking any of the hitting records this year
    • This was the first year that none of the hitting records were broken.

Which records are the most and least likely to fall next year? In my opinion the Home Run record is the least likely to be broken. It is a tough call for the most likely to be broken. I would say it is going to be a pitching record, probably ERA is my guess. What do you guys think?
