My searching skills are failing me. When was the last time Votto batted second?

Don't see the point in flipping Votto and BP. If you want to hit Votto 2 Bruce should be hitting 3. Especially against a RHP.

Offense is sputtering, so shake things up. I like the flexibility/creativity.

I like that Price is trying something to get the offense going. It's not like he could make it worse...well unless we start scoring those rare negative runs.

So will Votto be asked to "move the runner along" if Hamilton gets a double ahead of him?

All sarcasm aside, Votto behind Hamilton will force the opponent to choose their poison if he gets on ahead of Joey, maybe he'll see a few more meatball strikes.

Price says main reason was to shake things up, an attempt at "newness."

I like the change and the attempt to jump start the offense. I think Votto will be great when BH gets on. But hitters 4 through 9 have to produce most of them haven't lately.

    Reds win this one.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Zero problem with Votto there. Still rather have Phillips leading off
