I'm always amazed at how often once a comedian becomes successful their act either gets tired or they lose their touch. Guys like Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, Ben Stiller, Sacha Baron Cohen, Dane Cook, and the whole Judd Apatow gang is getting very close. I think they were all legit funny at some point, but don't really do it for anyone anymore.
There's a certain type of humor, and I don't know what to call it, that's pleasant but not edgy enough to be laugh-out-loud funny. I'm thinking movies like My Cousing Vinny or The Princess Bride. I really enjoy that.
For the barrel laughs, you can't go wrong with Louis C.K. and Bill Burr, 1A and 1B as far as stand-up comedians go. I also like Conan.

Might've shared this before, but a bunch of friends and I were all set to go see Mitch perform in Virginia Beach for my birthday, but he died just a few days before the scheduled show. Such a shame; that guy was great.
Tosh is funny, but why do I always happen to be eating when I'm watching that show? Big mistake.
I'm not a big laugh-out-loud guy either, but Louis CK can get me going to the point that I have to press pause and get my breathing under control. He's the best.
