Chris Nelson is playing 1B for the padres for the last month? He is hitting better than Jack H and can throw the ball. OK.

Shouldn't have been a mystery. Hoover was warming in the BP.

    My guess on Hoover here.

    50% - a walk.
    30% - a strikeout.
    15% - a homer
    5% - something else

there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.

Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008

It's not like he could start the game. They will know when he's in the pen warming up. How will that affect the Cards strategy except for the batter due up next?

How does that affect the Cards in game strategy? you can't change the batting line-up.

Rooting for Hoover to get out of this, so he can get the loss next inning.

Descalso just flicks his bat at pitches to the tune of an even worse hitter than Skip...... yet sure enough, Matt C's twin gets a hit to tie another game. This is just like 1993 more than 1989. That bullpen blew a lot of games that year.
