JJ Hoover absolutely sucks. I haven't been on t he boards in a long time, but the fact that the Redlegs keep throwing him out there is a disgrace. I watch the Reds every single night. There's a reason that in Columbus JJ Hoover is known as Hoover Damn. Cause every time he comes in you just say Damn. He is terrible, there is no chance in winning games when he takes the mound in tight ballgames. I love our Redlegs til the day I die, but unfortunately I think I'm finally throwing in the towell this year. Go Redlegs! Hope they prove me wrong

So all these 1-run losses are just random baseball things and everything will eventually even out next year, right?

Yeah, right. Let's just keep telling ourselves that.

I don't blame Hoover at all.

I cannot remember a situation when I was so unhappy with a bullpen decision.

It is what Bill James believes.

You seem like one of the more level headed posters here. How much "real" change is needed?

    Hoover or Ondrusek?

    Hoover or Ondrusek?

Great choices Price had for that situation tonight.

    Put yourself in Hoover's position.

No way should he have faced those guys, the middle of the Cards order in the ninth.

To keep Hoover on the active roster is bad enough. To continually put him in the same situations where he's clearly MASSIVELY struggling is simply terrible managing. I can't imagine that the team has much faith in Bryan Price at the moment. Whatever hope there was left of salvaging Hoover (if there was any to begin with) has been effectively crushed.

Broxton in the ninth. Ondrusek or Contreras in the tenth.

Nobody, not any manager, is pitching their closer for the night in a tie game on the road in the ninth.

Hey B. Been a rough day and year for our teams, huh? Cursed it seems. I told you there was something to it. Being a sports fan around these parts can take the most optimistic person and make them a jaded SOB. Sorry you have to go through it.

I didn't see the last few innings. There were no other relievers available?

At best, that delays the inevitable.
