“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
Leadoff double for Negron.
He ends up staying there. 7-0 Redlegs after 7.

Wow, two pizza days in a row!!
Nice to see the Reds playing well again today. I was there last night and aside from the heart attack inducing bullpen, it was a pretty good game (aside from the drunk Cubs fans who seemed to be everywhere).
"I tried to play golf, but I found out I wasn't very good." -Joey Votto on his offseason hobby search
An MLB.com reporter asked what one thing Votto couldn’t do. “I can’t skate or play hockey,” Votto said. “Well, I can skate ... but I can’t stop.”
Bruce...0-5 with 5 strike outs

there's nothing like bowling a 300 game! 13 now and retired.
Ricky henderson has a higher OBP than C. patterson and he's retired. C. Trent 6-14-2008
Jumbo gives up three straight hits to start the 9th to give up the shutout. 7-1 game, 1st and 3rd for Chicago with no outs.

I think enough is enough with Bruce, he needs to be rested for awhile. He needs to work with somebody and get back to hitting basics.
Bruce's ground ball rate is way up, which often happens when you swing at bad pitches. Plate discipline numbers are much worse than usual. Swinging at balls, taking way too many strikes.
Guy just struck out five times in one ballgame, I think it's time to give somebody else a chance and let Jay rest and work on his game in practice.

Double play to end the game.
We're still good.

Bruce's 5 strikeouts today were the 5th time that a player has struck out 5 times in one game this season.
The others included Choo, CarGo, Nolan Reimold, and I believe Baez.
He joins Pete Rose, Eric Davis, George Foster, Deron Johnson, and Adam Dunn, as a Reds' player to have that distinction.
This was another chapter in a very unusual season that this has been for Bruce.
He looked to be coming around against Colorado, and St. Louis, but has scuffled again since.
Someone wrote on twitter that it appeared Bruce had altered his stance, I was unable to see the game today, so I didn't notice.
