    The infamous Pitch Clock

I'm at the AA Jax Suns game. They have the pitch clocks going. They were not on the first two games. Game is 30 minutes in and were in the 7th inning.......Just kidding about that that last part.

About 1 hour in and we just started the 5th. Only 5 hits in the game though

It works a little differently than I originally thought.

Clay Buchholz got a letter from the MLB powers that he was wasting time ... by stepping out of the batter's box. A guy who takes forever between pitches gets reprimanded when he comes to the plate and he's an AL pitcher?

Last night's game was low scoring, but we were out of there at 9:30. Official time of game was 2:27. I never saw any attempt/need to enforce the clock, everyone was pitching within the allowed time.

    Re: The infamous Pitch Clock

At the the 3 Wahoos games, they are still working out the kinks. Both managers had issues on why the umpires were not monitoring the clock. What I have noticed is that the clock operator is taking a huge leap of faith in guessing that the pitcher is going to release the ball by stopping the clock. I asked several pitchers if it is altering their approach any and they said it didn't take long to get used to it and one player said they have been instructed to throw to first if there is a runner and they need more time.

I love the in between inning clock.
