Up 6-0, I'm not terribly concerned with solo home run with one out in the ninth inning.

I know, I was just hoping for Tony D to come back for the 9th.

    But I'll take the W.

This was a much needed win after going 1-5 against the Cubs and Cards. In fact, the pitching of DeSlafino (did I spell it right?) gives the team some confidence that that the rotation is solid, Bailey's dud on Saturday had to be an aberration. Now the hitting and the bullpen. Places where changes were made, so much depends on the home run as far as the offense goes, but up and down the lineup, guys aren't hitting. Hamilton isn't getting on, Frazier is slumping after a hot start, Bruce is not hitting, Byrd is starting slow...that won't stay that way forever, but the pen is something that bothers me a lot. I hope the manager considers using Tony, Chapy, etc. more. Otherwise, this team should be 9-4.

I think that in a year or two, one of these guys - Frazier, Dorn, Valaika, Cumberland, Stubbs - will be ready to replace Dunn. They won't hit as many home runs as Dunn, but they should have similar OPS. - 757690, July 22, 2008

This Tony Disco looks very good. The early return on this trade for the Reds is a landslide. We'll see how it lasts. The Reds need to take care of the Brewers these next three games. They look terrible and they look like a team that has given up already. Ron Roenicke won't last much longer. Did anyone hear why they started this game at such an odd time of 7:20? If I hadn't looked at the schedule earlier in the day I wouldn't have turned it on until 8pm.

15 day DL for him. Makes them that much weaker at the plate.
