At my work, if you have a problem with the boss, you contact your shop steward first and submit a formal application for a grievance. Votto completely bypassed this process and turned what could have been a learning moment for a young, frustrated man into a violent, unprofessional scene.
I'm not saying the bump was right, it was stupid, but if you were personally ejected from a game and had no idea that you were until after you took the field for defense, wouldn't you be a little heated when you found out you were thrown out for a ridiculous reason? I know I would have been. I'm not saying I'd be 'run into an umpire' heated, but I'd definitely be charging toward him full speed while yelling out of frustration/disbelief/confusion.
