I 've had one comment on it and the guy knew it was a Reds hat. He wasn't even that old.

I actually bought that one, but even the XL was too small for my noggin. I gave it to my dad for his birding trips.

I have the same hat and I've gotten more Cubs fan stuff then Bears, infuriating!

Holy cow. Just got my American Needle 1955 Reds hat. It is literally the most perfect fit I have ever had. I almost can't believe it. Really sturdy and well-made, too. Still love '47 Brand, but American Needle has just leapt up in the polls, that's for sure.

I actually just found this hat because I wanted a blue Reds hat and just did a Google search. I hadn't really even realized that the Reds actually used to wear the color. Man, I really wouldn't mind if they brought back that look... though I'm sure it would be strange when they played the Cubs. LOL.

Went ahead and bought the vintage 1969 American Needle Reds model. Great fit, very well made, and doesn't have that annoying black shadowing on the "C" that the recent design has. Just got the hat today and love it. American Needle sizes are more specific than '47 Brand, and also have a deeper crown, which works well for those of us with large craniums.
My wife just cut me off on hat purchases so this may be my last post about a new one for awhile.
