I think this will happen. Falu or Satin for the bench. If Cozart is out longer term, then Suarez.

Is Villarreal currently on the Roster?

Feel badly for Cozart...he was doing so well.

Yes, he was called up along with Moscot 5 days ago.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

They might. But I think it'll be a DL stint for Cozy and Suarez brought up. And the extra arm isn't to help keep the pen rested. It's to have a safety net for the 3 rookie starters. I'd be surprised if they lessen the # in the pen while they still have those kids in the rotation.

Billy injured his hand/wrist sliding home on that steal of home. Slid right into the Ump's foot. Phillips is out due to a strained groin.

This is the problem with the classic "long man." Too few appearances. Really there for eating innings when the starter gets knocked out early. Not much use.

I'd rather have the bench guy. Adcock and Matheus can fill in when the starting pitcher gets knocked out early.

They don't have a "long man" currently. Unless they're counting Villareal as one, which I doubt. I'm fairly sure that all the BP arms are short stint guys. 1-2 innings.

And I agree it would be nice to have that extra bat. But the long term health of those 3 arms is probably of much higher importance to the FO than an occasional pinch hitter.

I agree, 13 pitchers is ridiculous

Probably the Reds will go to 12 pitchers when they recall Mesoraco.

If Cozart is DL'd they will use Suarez because he can start games at SS.

They seem to like Boesch and Negron for their defensive versatility, so I doubt they are going anywhere.

    Walks will haunt.

Thought the game started at 1:10.

    Total fail on my part.
