The whining he does is pretty sad.

    Great win.

They're playing well. Beat another good pitcher tonight.

Missed most of tonight's game. I got to watch the first inning before I got called out and got back in the ninth. Saw the struggling Cole who just can't figure out the Reds and Marlon Byrd taking him to school. Byrd is hot again (as he pretty much has been since April) and Jay is seeing the ball and its location better. There is no chance that the Reds can bypass the Pirates, Cubs, and Cardinals, but enjoyable baseball is what they are playing now.

Pirates had won 7 straight home games.

    Good offense this evening.

After giving up his Joe Hoerner impersonation schtick from last season he has been good. Actually the bullpen has been very good lately. Parra has been good since coming back from injury,Matheus has been pretty steady and Hoover has been reborn. After Gregg and Diaz were taken away from Price and he buried Badenhop in the back of the pen, things have gone well. To bad it took a quarter of the season to figure out all of that.

So tonight's "Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game" is J.J. Hoover, who pitched a perfect ninth inning with 2 K's to earn his first save in two years in the absence of Aroldis Chapman.
I just love you doing this "star of the game" bit Big Klu, ever since you started doing it, I find myself wondering who Joe might select. I thought he would pick Byrd, but with your reasoning, you are probably right on hoover.
