Well, the Reds have a plane to catch, and they don't play Colorado again this season, so I'm not giving any of the Rockies an award today.

So today's "Joe Nuxhall Star of the Game" is Jay Bruce, who was 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and a run-scoring double, and also moved into a tie with Barry Larkin for ninth place on the Reds all-time home run list with 198.

I am afraid we are going to see more games like this the rest of the season. When a team starts its fire sale the players left usually throw in the towel on the rest of the season. We will see what happens but the rest of the season could be a disaster.

I think we will continue to have more games like this the rest of the season because our pitching staff is now officially in the FULL ON SUCK category, as we now officially have nobody not named Leake that I think we can count on to pitch past the 5th inning on a regular basis - let alone get a quality start - so our woeful bullpen will be on display more than it already has.
And, that guy named Leake, may be traded by the end of this week as well.

Our offense was always capable of keeping us in the few games where our pitching staff gives up 5 runs or less, but those times will be few and far between from now until the end of the year.
