This should be a zesty affair.

The boys left it all on the field yesterday but came up heartbreakingly short in a narrow 10 run defeat.

But spirits are always high when these two teams clash.

Throw their respective records out the window. This is war.

    A war we never win.

No Grichuk? Youngster has the 2nd fastest average exit velocity only behind Mr. Stanton

    Strange looking Cardinals lineup

Garbage lineup by the Cards....Reds got this one. Bruce 14/28 off of Lynn.

I do look for Votto to begin a bit of a struggle, but sure have enjoyed his post break offense.

Over/under for Matt Carpenter RBI's this series:

    Setting it at 5.

Count me in as taking the over.

Interesting scheduling quirk... regular season game for the Cards.....exhibition for the Reds.

He's been average since getting hit in the hand....struggled a good bit and even dropped to 7th in the order. I will set him though at 22.5 pitches seen per game

Cardinals are not mocking birds. Unlike mynas or parakeets.

The Cardinal song is a loud string of clear down-slurred or two-parted whistles, often speeding up and ending in a slow trill. The songs typically last 2 to 3 seconds. Syllables can sound like the bird is singing cheer, cheer, cheer or birdie, birdie, birdie. Males in particular may sing throughout the year, though the peak of singing is in spring and early summer.

    ornithologically yours,
