Don't give up so easily. There could still be a punchout with a passed ball.

Or even extra innings with the Reds winning 2-1.

The guy is a corner infielder. I can understand having him learn the outfield too. But why was it necessary to completely switch his position the minute he came over to the new team.

He didn't hit at AAA for the Reds, I'd guess this whole position switch had a role. He has the winter to learn LF. Depth behind Frazier and Votto are important goals for the future too. They can rest a few games in September with Duvall playing his comfortable positions.

Not sure this is particularly clear, but I would have handled him differently.
I get that, but I don't think that the Reds see him as the LF in '16, or i am sincerley hoping they don't. I think if they can use a power bat to start part time there, 1B and 3B that's a positive. I feel this season would be as good a tie as any to get him some practice there.

Quick reminder that I was mocked for (accurately) pointing out that Bourgeois' career numbers suggested he would probably hit better than Billy would over the last several weeks of this season.

But the mocker was the guy who now roots for the Reds to lose, so whatevs.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
