You need to review some past game threads.

I was actually excited when THom came back to Cincinnati. But as time has worn on, THom's schtick has grown incredibly tiresome. The more he talks (and he talks a LOT), you realize the less he knows, and what he does know is terribly antiquated.

My preferred play-by-play man on TV is Jim Kelch, and though I can't believe I would ever say this, I miss George Grande sometimes, too.

What first made me notice were the things that he said about the Pirates that were just flat out wrong... I understand that he doesn't follow the Pirates but he was just saying the stupidest things that were just simply not true.

You never know what you've got until it's gone, but George aggravated me so much. I think familiarity breeds contempt. The longer they stay, the worse they get. Believe it or not, some Dodger fans don't care for Vin Scully. Go figure

At least he's consistent. THom says stupid and wrong things about the Reds, too.

But get him talking about the Diamondbacks, or his days working with Ron Santo and the Cubs, or (heaven forbid) Saint Urban and "THE" Ohio State University (THom's emphasis, not mine), and he becomes a virtual encyclopedia.

Negron's 2014 may go down as one of the all-time Reds fluke performances.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

George was kind of like your eccentric uncle who says and does weird things, but down deep is honest and sincere, and truly enjoys what he does.

It's Joe Maddon, Thom, and it's because you have a huge man-crush on him.

Thom is that uncle that chastises you because your newborn baby cried for 2 1/2 minutes.....walks out of the room grumbling about it and then speaks of it again each of your next 1,241 times around him.

From the looks of the stands at GABP to the game thread, it appears everyone has packed it up and ready for February when pitchers and catchers report. Think I'll join the rest of the fair weather fans and buy a black hat with a gold P on it and fit in. You know better than that...

Imagine if Suarez pulls a 2015 Negron.
