I still like Lamb, but this is a truly pathetic outing.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

At over 60 pitches through 2, he'll be lucky to complete 4 innings.

You gotta think De Jesus Jr and Duvall will be on the bench next year.

I like PHing for Lamb here, no reason not to.

Big pitchers duel in Oakland today. Probably the last start for both in their careers.....Tim Hudson against Barry Zito. 7 runs scored by both teams combined in 2 innings.
Hudson already pulled. Not the way he wanted to go in his last start.

I read that as "7 runs scored by each team in 2 innings"

No, but walked off to a standing ovation in the city he began his career so that's cool as hell.

If you are gonna send up a PH in the 3rd with 2 on 1 out you do not send up Brennan Boesch

Something about Boesch's swing bothers me. Even when it's a fast swing, it looks like there's zero power behind it.

I don't see anything in Carlos Contreras.

It is ridiculous that a pitcher has to pinch-hit in a game on September 26 because you only have a five-man bench.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Red's young pitchers have really been impressive. So have their old pitchers.
