Metal almost always lags, it isnt fair....

Most genres should have their own Hall- would really take some of the nonsense out.

I don’t think they are in the Rock Hall but should Slade be in?

A number of artists from diverse genres have cited Slade as an influence, including Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Undertones, The Runaways, The Clash, Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Poison, Def Leppard, Twisted Sister, The Replacements, Cheap Trick, Oasis, Quiet Riot (who covered Slade songs for two of their three biggest hits) and Britny Fox.

What about Warren Zevon? Unique artist. Incrdible lyricist. Should be in the Hall in my opinion. Doe he get the nod from you?

He certainly does from me. I tried to live his wild man lifestyle in the late 70’s with tequila and Jack and some illegal powder. There was about a year there where I was surprised I came out the other end of it.

    Love his work.

Do you have a favorite Zevon song, Roy? Of course, "Lawyers, Guns& Money" is epic. Letterman's favorite, I think, was "Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner."

His "Exciteable Boy" LP was one of my most played albums while I was in college.

Yep, it was a regular on my turntable as well. Cranked waaay up. Your picks are good ones. Zevon also had his tender side with Accidentally Like a Martyr” which was a good 3 am song. I hear cuts off that album now and I just go “oh jeez”. It was a pretty dark time for a very confused with life Roy. Long time ago now.
