We don't talk about the P&R forum?

    What's the second rule?

Do lenticular clouds count as weather? Or should I be putting this in a UFO thread? Anyway, these are freaky.

Great picture! Totally count as weather.

I've never heard of, much less seen lenticular clouds. Is that the right name for them? My spell check wants to kick this word out. Thanks for the pic!

Yeah, and California isn't a good place for it. We get a thunderstorm every few years, boy do I miss them.

I had never heard of them before clicking on a link about weird clouds over South Africa. Figured the pic was appropriate for this thread. And yes, that is the name I read in the article.

Yes, that's the correct name for those types of clouds.

    Re: Weather

If anyone ever wants an interesting place for Weather discussion, there is a great weather forum called Americanwx.com. I strongly suggest lurking there to get a feel for the place and the subforums before wading in to posting. There is also a forum at accuweather.com.

Interesting that Cincinnati ranked pretty high. I think that's because it's at a point where several weather systems interact. In Cincinnati you can get weather from the Gulf, the Great Lakes or from the Atlantic. Northern Michigan weather can also be funky due to the Great Lakes. Those lakes do weird things to the weather. You can't just look at Wisconsin and extrapolate what's coming east
