Sad news, some classic albums from STP in the 90's.
Go Gators!
I loved Velvet Revolver. Hate to hear this.
Sad news. The man had his battles.
All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.
I heard this on the way to work this morning. I loved the STP early albums those were some of the albums I would go back and listen to from time to time.
I remember years ago that people would do celebrity death polls, about which celebrity would be the next one to die. Weiland and Lane Staley always topped that list because of their noted addiction battles. Unfortunately I am not surprised to see that he passed away over night. However I am somewhat surprised that he made it to age 48. Weiland had his demons but man could that guy produce good music. RIP Scott.
48.
Well I guess he almost doubled Staley's run.
I remember when STP first hit it big. It was right after Pearl Jam and Nirvana hit it big and it seemed every new band was trying to do the whole mumble-grunge thing. So I wasn't really impressed initially. But their peak songs have aged well and really did end up being a cut above most of what was released at the time.
Heroin addiction. Such a waste.
"Lemonade requires a significant amount of sugar. Otherwise, you've just made lemon juice."
Cocaine, reportedly.
There are so few rock stars each generation gets and Scott was certainly one for mine. I saw him with STP once and he was great. Saw him once solo, he was not so great. That was the embodiment of his addiction. Some days he could control it, some days it controlled him. He came here a few weeks ago and I chose not to go because I was fearful of getting 'bad' Scott again. Very sad.
I'm saddened no question. Even sadder that I'm not shocked.
RIP Scott.

Saw him in concert in dayton in the late 90's, he was reportedly clean at that point, good talent, will be missed
Bring on 2018! #%?*!
Saw them at Rock on The Range in Columbus in 2008 (their very first concert since reforming) and again in 2009 at LC Pavilion in Columbus.
They were great both times and I'm really glad I got to see them. He was a great singer and had an awesome stage presence, he even won my wife (not a big rock fan) over with his dancing and antics on stage.
Always loved STP, one of my favorites. RIP

Love Tiny Music... A oft over-looked gem.

I've had STP in heavy rotation the last few days. Forgot how good some of these songs were, loved how diverse the band became with stuff like "Sour Girl" and "Days of The Week."
"Crackerman" would have been on my list of walk-up music if I was an MLB player.
Rounding third and heading for home...
