Carolina scored 88 points in 57 possessions last night. That's pretty crazy.
I'm not going to claim UNC didn't mess up, and there may be sanctions but they have cleaned up the mess and are moving forward. Doesn't make me happy what happened in the past though. You claim fake classes (which isn't really accurate), what about the fake students UK trots out that go to class for the 1st semester then don't see a classroom ever again?

As a UNC alum, I'm pretty embarrassed by the whole paper classes fiasco. It does make me feel better when people make it out to be some sort of basketball scandal, though, because it at least trivializes the extent of the actual scandal.
I have to step in here because I get greatly agitated when I hear this BS about UK - I can't speak for other schools who get one-and-done players (contrary to popular belief, it wasn't Kentucky or John Calipari who invented the rule and UK isn't the only school who gets 'em), but I can tell you firsthand, not just hearsay, that these kids go to school beyond the first semester, they finish out their year, and in many cases far beyond that as well. It's something strictly enforced at UK... believe me, if it weren't closely monitored, you'd hear about it in the media, it wouldn't be buried and hidden.
In Cal's entire run at Kentucky there has been a total of ONE kid who stopped going to class per your suggestion. It was from Cal's first class, and not one of the major stars who's gone on to big success in the NBA either - and this kid burnt a lot of bridges at UK doing it too and is about the only kid you don't ever hear anything from as far as returning to Kentucky for events or staying in touch with UK.
I haven't said anything about the UNC situation because I hate the regurgitated misinformation about stuff like kids aren't going to school at UK beyond their first semester. I know it's the popular belief of many that UK only gets "mercenaries" who care nothing about the university or going to school and are only there waiting to turn pro, and nothing could be further from the truth. If you think I'm lying, you have a lot to learn on the topic. See the close connections that some of the very biggest stars to come from Kentucky still have with the communities and university, and also those who are completing coursework still, even as they are making a living as a professional. There is no doubt that many kids are interested in UK because of the "quick to the pros" belief, but they find out quickly that it isn't an NBA boarding school, they actually have to be college students at UK, there are some that don't like it, but all who have come aboard have done it with a sole exception.

If UK 's players were quitting school after one semester their APR would have been hit by now and they would have been missing tournaments like some other schools. From all I read and that is all I can by, is that at least go to class and do well enough to pass. Cal has told them that is part of the deal to come to UK is that they at least have to do that. I think Daniel Orton is the player you mentioned that did quit school after one semester. Orton also wasn't really a Cal recruit. BCG had recruited him and he decided to stay on with Cal.
