Someone shared this clip on Twitter of Prince with James Brown & Michael Jackson - there's some serious soul going on there!

Pete Townshend would be at the top of my list.

I had no idea Chuck Berry was still alive. I guess you could add Little Richard.

Pollard and Westerberg? You're Gen-X outing yourself.

I wasn't exactly a Prince fan, his biggest stuff was before me. I do however find that I know more of his stuff than I ever though.

Honest question, was he sick? Prince always came off as a strange dude, more in an artistic manner, but he always seemed frail. Frail in a near Michael Jackson manner. You would see this imposing musician put a performance, then you would look at the guy and he looked so skinny, in a sickly manner. With MJ you knew he was a troubled guy, with Prince you never really heard much.

On another note, I met my girlfriend the old fashion way, at a bar. The band started playing Purple Rain and I asked her to dance. We will always remember this song.

He was very private so it's pretty hard to tell. I read that he needed both of his hips replaced but he was avoiding it due to his religious beliefs that didn't allow blood transfusions. TMZ is reporting that he suffered an opiate drug overdose w/i the past week. Perhaps that was due to chronic pain. It's very rare for healthy 57 yr olds to drop dead from pneumonia or the flu. Something wasn't right with his health

Hard for me to put Townsend and Clapton up there with Townsend being a pedofile and Clapton being a racist a-hole.

I have to go Jagger, Wilson, McCartney as the biggest rock stars still going. I am seeing Brian Wilson at the Fox Theater in Detroit next fall. I am pumped!

I'll bet anything it was drugs.

57 year old people don't die from the flu.

I think your odds of death at 57 are something like 3%.

I saw Muddy Waters open for Clapton, I've read his drunken rants from the 70's

As for Pete, I can't speak to any facts but these

There go Chick Berry and Little Richard, as well.

    Re: RIP Prince

I'm going to admit something, and I promise this is not a tasteless joke. About an hour before I heard this news I watched a report on Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday, and when I read that Prince had died my first thought was "Charles or Philip?" I"m sorry.
