Peraza needs to cheer people on first before playing

Get the feeling the Reds like to bring these prospects up for a few days just to get them acclimated to the clubhouse and atmosphere.

Peraza has been in the bigs before, but they may not be intending him to play much for the few days.

I could be wrong but it's the rare player who gets the call from the Reds that plays the very next day - except for pitchers. Remember how long it took for Hamilton to get on the field except for pinch running? I'm all for letting a guy get acclimated but - as you said - Peraza's been up before. These bereavement leaves are only a day or two, IIRC. Why not put the guy in there to see how he'll do?

Gotta give the kid a day to acclimate.

My idea is get them in there before they realize what is happening.

...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Anybody actually want to share why Billy is on bereavement?
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

His young nephew died in a car accident.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
