Should have already started. Not sure how long each team has, but they're still just talking so I'm assuming it's been delayed for some reason :/

Big high school arm, I got no complaints.

Hanson's fastball has resided at 88-92 mph in some starts and 91-94 in others, topping out at 96. Gatorade's state player of the year pairs it with a power curveball that is a plus pitch at its best, though at times he struggles to throw it for strikes. He hasn't had much use for a changeup against Minnesota high school competition.

More physical than athletic, Hanson should have the durability required to be a starter but will have to refine his control and command. He has committed to Kentucky and shares some similarities with current Wildcat Kyle Cody, another product of the Upper Midwest (Wisconsin).
6'5, 210 already with a plus fastball and plus curveball. Beyond my scope but sounds like he's a big, projectable pitcher with command issues.

    http://usatodayhss.com/2016/gatorade...oy-nick-hanson

    School: Prior Lake (Savage, Minn.)
    Grade: Senior
    Position: Right-handed pitcher and infielder
    Height: 6-foot-6
    Weight: 210 pounds

Athletic achievement: He had led the Lakers to a 10-5 record at the time of his selection. Hanson owned a 5-0 record with a 0.68 ERA through 15 games, along with a .417 batting average. An All-Conference and All-Metro honoree as a junior, he struck out 50 batters and scattered 19 hits over 30.2 innings pitched. Hanson was also named to the USA TODAY’s American Family Insurance ALL-USA Minnesota First Team.

Academic excellence: Hanson has maintained a 3.48 GPA.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of Never Ever Give Up, which assists children stricken with cancer.

    THE PRAISE

“Hanson is a dominant pitcher,” said Rob Walsh, head coach at Eagan High. “I think he topped out at 95 MPH and he’s got a changeup that he can throw for strikes. He’s big and very athletic, and he can swing the bat too.”

THE FUTURE: Hanson has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball on scholarship at the University of Kentucky this fall.

JJ Cooper says he was throwing breaking ball to backstop consistently early in year but corrected as weather warmed. High upside.

    TODAY is Hanson's 18th birthday.

Sounds like a typical 3rd Round pick by the Reds.

Sounds like he has a big arm but his velocity is all over from 86 to 96 because of the cold weather he has been pitching in. Will be interesting to see what his stuff looks like in the desert. I really like his frame 6'5/6'6 210 lbs. Should be 230 to 240 in 3 or 4 years .

There were too many quality college bats on the board that would have been a great value -- just can't get excited about this pick.
