Here's the 1967 Reds yearbook cover. Crosley is in the left part of the picture. The yearbook was all of .75 cents.

They are letting them in through the CF gate. Apparently you could park your carriage in the outfield and watch the game from the comfort of your wagon seat. Outfield may have become a little messy with horses around.

I'm guessing that like most of the ballparks of the day the fences were fairly far back and combined with a dead ball and the style of play, there weren't many balls hit that far. Foul ground by 3rd base and right field could probably be tricky since a batted ball could initially hit in fair ground and would be a fair ball even if it immediately or eventually landed in foul ground. Also, a foul ball caught on one bounce was an out. So I could see players going for a foul ball and the horses and carriages interfering - not to mention what came out of the horses.

I have three seats from Crosley that my Grandpa bought and handed down to me. Do people still want things like that. They've been stored for years and never used. I'd love to sell them to someone who'd fix them up and use them. Any ideas?

Any word on whether they charged admission back then and if so, how much?

As I recall anything caught on a bounce was an out and the fielders didn't exactly have anything reembling today's gloves back then

No. That rule changed in 1865. Any fair ball after that had to be caught on the fly for an out.

Crosley Filed in 1935. Lights have just been installed and checking things to be ready for the first night game in MLB history.

Crosley Field at night. On this date in 1934 the NL gave the Reds permission to schedule 7 night games for the 1935 season.

If that's the first night game, my mother is somewhere in that crowd. I wish I could find her.

This is League Park circa 1890. It was the Reds home from 1884 to 1901.
